Sense won't receive text notifications

I have an iPhone 6plus. The sense will show phone calls but not text notifications. I’ve chatted with an agent, we’ve “forgotten” the device and repaired 3-4 times. Still nothing. Any ideas?

Welcome to the Community Forums, @Mitch0182.

Thanks for trying the suggestions shared in this thread. I'm sorry the issue persists and just to confirm, have you made sure to turn off DND or Sleep Mode? When these settings are turned on, your watch won't vibrate and the screen won't turn when receiving any type of notification. Additionally, please check if the Fitbit app is updated and try the troubleshooting tips described in this help article.

Hope this helps.

Try on your Fitbit watch....  Settings, Quiet modes, Do not disturb, Off  I started getting text messages again after I did this.

...and/or set focus and sleep modes to off.  Mine were already off.

Yes, I tried everything like forgetting device, reinstalling the world, factory resets - nothing helped. The exactly thing that worked was to go on my iPhone to Settings > Notifications > Messages > ALERTS > Notification Center - this checkbox must be enabled. Boom! It works now.

Hi @LizzyFitbit

I'm having the same issue. I too have done all of these steps to fix and no luck.

I feel like it's probably one of the hidden security items I checked somewhere.

Another member mentioned the "Show History" needs to be checked. But that doesn't even show as an option.

Just received my 4th FitBit, this time I received the Sense for Christmas. This replaced my charge that got smashed when I was at the gym!

Don't ask....

@AJz_GiGi when asking about an issue with the phone, it always is helpful to know I what OS runs on the phone.

In general, if the notification doesn't display on the phone when the phone is locked, the notification will not be sent to the tracker.

The phone should not have its DND enabled.

The tracker could also be in its DND or sleep mode.

I have had this issue for days, today after reading several posts I finally got this working.  I turned my iPhone notification for iMessage to display always.  Then went back out and back in, changed to only display while unlocked.  I was able to see the message on my Versa 3 and my regular notification on my phone locked without the message being displayed (my preference).  I tried it with the iMessage to never allow preview but that didn't seem to work, but a happy compromise I think if you are looking for one.  So iMessage - Notifications-Show Preview When Unlocked - seems to work.

Hi. I recently stopped getting text notifications from my iPhone 12. Tried your fix but it didn’t work.

In the ‘App Notifications’ tab I no longer see Messages as an available app to receive notifications from. Is this app no longer an option?

Solved! My wife figured it out!

Under iOS Notifications settings, inside the notifications settings for "Messages", was a setting for the lock screen preview. Once this was set to always show, the messages immediately popped onto her Fitbit Sense. Hope this helps!

Hello

i have tried all of the suggestions and still do not get text messages.  I’ve checked, rechecked and rechecked again all settings.  Updated the app, rebooted my phone, logged out and back in to the Fitbit app.  Nothing works.  You should make sure everything works in your app before you release it and the same goes for your devices.  I just wasted 1.5 hours on this.  I got the Sense 2 for Christmas but will be asking for the receipt and returning.  This is rificulous’

I have this same problem but I have an Android. I see all of the previous answers have been for Iphones. Enabling/disabling all of the aforementioned settings on the android did not work. It is really discouraging!

Hi @Lauren2583 - for Android, if you have swiped your watch face to the right to get to Quick Settings and made sure that both sleep and do not disturb are off, then your watch may not be syncing or the  Fitbit App is not running in background.

Have a look at How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?
