Hello @lummy1945

I’m not aware if your using an Android or an IOS so I’ll just cover for both. First things make sure your Do Not Disturb and/or Sleep Mode isn’t on. Check your Sense to see if you may have accidentally turned them on.. When you use either of those modes you don’t receive notifications. Swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the quick settings icon (Ionic and older Versas) or swipe left from the clock face (Versa 3 and Sense.) Check that both sleep (crescent moon icon) and DND (minus symbol) are off.

There’s an additional mode called Focus mode that silences notifications and calls during workouts with the Exercise app. To check if you enabled this, go to Settings > Quiet modes > Focus mode and toggle it off.

Lets double check your settings to make sure you have it set up correctly:

If your an Android user:

  • Ensure the Fitbit app runs in the background by going to Apps & Notifications > Fitbit app and turning off Background restrictions or Background limits.
  • Check that the Fitbit app is installed on your phone’s internal storage and not on an external SD card or other storage. The Fitbit app does not consistently work when installed on an SD card.
  • Turn off battery optimization and limitations.
    1. Go to Apps > Fitbit app > Advanced > Battery > Battery optimization.
    2. Change the view to All apps.
    3. Search for the Fitbit app and choose Don’t optimize (or not optimized.). Also check: Settings > Apps & notifications > Notifications > Notifications on lock screen and set to Show conversations.

If you are an iOS user:

  • Go to Settings > Notifications > Messages and turn on Allow Notifications.
  • Then, checkmark Notification Center, Lock Screen, and Banners
  • Change the Shows Previews setting to Always or When Unlocked.
  • Use Banner Style > Persistent (default is temporary.)
  • Repeat for the Fitbit app, the Phone app, Calendar app, and any other app that you want to see notifications for on your Fitbit.
  • Finally, confirm that Share System Notifications are on via your phone’s Bluetooth settings > Your Fitbit > System Notifications.

😃 I hope this provides you with the best answer to help sort out your notifications issue. Please let me know

Hi there, @lummy1945. @SunsetRunner Thanks for stopping by to help our member.

@lummy1945 Thanks for the details provided, and your efforts while troubleshooting your Sense. I'm sorry you're having this issue and even though the phone notifications seem to work correctly, let's try reconnecting your watch to the Fitbit app :

  1. Forget your Sense from the Bluetooth settings.
  2. Force quit the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  3. Restart your watch to refresh its performance.
  4. Open the Fitbit app, tap your profile picture > Set Up a Device.
  5. Select your Sense, tap Replace Device and follow the on-screen instructions.

Once this is completed, set up your notifications one more time and try receiving a text or email to test your Sense.
