Sense won't sync and keeps saying an app is required

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

It is saying I app is required. I have had it in sync/connected since I got it a couple weeks ago. Today it will not sync. I DO have the app on my phone. I have followed all instructions to reconnect. Nothing has been successful.

I feel your pain. I've been Downloading and Deleting the Fitbit app from my Hubby's Samsung Galaxy 9 for the past 3 hours. The Sense won't connect to the phone. The error message "an app is needed this" WAS coming up. NOW, The phone won't even recognize the Sense device. Does anybody on the Community Forum have any suggestions? The device had been running great until 3 days ago!

Hi @Clevercowgirl6. Welcome to the Community Forums.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, as well for troubleshooting your Sense prior to posting. I understand how you're feeling about not being able to sync your watches. Even though you've tried some steps, please give one last try to the following in the given order:

  1. Remove your Sense from the Bluetooth settings.
  2. Turn off other Bluetooth connections nearby.
  3. Force quit the Fitbit app and reboot your phone.
  4. Restart your Sense.
  5. Open the Fitbit app, tap your profile picture > Set Up a Device.
  6. Select your Sense, tap Replace Device and follow the on-screen instructions.

If by any chance you keep getting the same message, take a screenshot of it and attach it to your reply so I can investigate on my end.

Hope this helps.

Hi @Goffjr. Welcome on board.

Thanks for letting me know about your Sense, and for trying the steps shared in my post. Because your post didn't mention, may I know if you've also exhausted the troubleshooting steps described in this help article? If you've tried that but the issue persists, please take a screenshot and attach it to your reply. Also, let me know the model and OS version of your phone. These details will help me to investigate on my end.

See you around.
