Recently the settings app (swipe left, gear icon) will not launch. Quick settings access (swipe right) is fine. Hard reset did not resolve the issue. I'd factory wipe it but since I can't get to settings that is not an option.

Hi @Manglewolf - the solution for a corrupted OS can be a factory reset, not without risk, which can render the watch useless in addition to bugs in the new V4 Fitbit App which can fail to set it up again.
Probably best to chat via the Fitbit App, Help & support section, Contact Customer support who can guide you through the process using the button.
However sync the watch first and run the "Set up a Device" it may help, also try removing the device from the account and add it again, it may just be enough.
It is a good idea to make a note of the names of any clocks or apps and any special watch or app settings you use before setting up a watch.
