Smart wake issue

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have a Fitbit sense and I use my mobile phone alarms. But my Fitbit sense keeps waking my up 30 minutes early. I do not have smart wake activated because I am not using the Fitbit alarm. I do have sleep tracker on. But I cannot find how to disable this annoying feature. I don't snooze my alarms so I find this annoying. Any help is appreciated

Hi @Billhoag - when the alarm goes off on the watch you will most likely see it as a notification from the phone, informing you that there is an alarm in 30 minutes.

You can set a sleep schedule on the watch so that it won't react to the notification or may be disable the early warning in your phone alarm settings.

Hello Guy, thanks for the info. I like receiving notifications when I receive a text message and similar. Do you know if this will work or is this a hypothetical guess? I have looked and see nothing in the settings you mentioned that will disable this unwanted feature that is costing me 30 minutes of sleep every night. I love this watch, but if I can't figure out how to stop it I am returning it.

I think I may have come up with a solution. I will use the alarm feature on the Fitbit instead of my phone. I ran a test and it didn't send a pre alarm. Thanks for the help again Guy

@Billhoag - thanks, out of interest what phone do you have?

On Android you get a 5 minutes notification but none when the phone alarm goes off.

Didn't find a setting for changing it.

Watch alarm is better if you feel the vibrations which get weaker as the battery level falls.

Hello Guy. I have the Samsung S22 Ultra. No pre alarms acvitely set. So I'm not sure what is causing the pre alarm. It goes off every time I have tested it. It's very annoying. ThevAlarms are easier to manage on my phone. I have multiple alarms depending on the day or need with titles so I don't get confused on the watch doesn't have titles but at least 8 can have multiple alarms depending on the need

@Billhoag - haven't tested it but found.

On your phone (press and hold Clock launch icon and select app info) or

  • Settings
  • App settings
  • Clock
  • Notifications
  • Upcoming alarms - disable

Quite why it is 30 minutes for an S22 and 5 minutes for an S9 with no means of controlling it, is a mystery. It would seem it was changed in a later version of the Clock app.

The worst is you don't get a notification on the watch when the alarm does go off.

To do that I use Macrodroid to send me a notification on the watch when the clock app opens.

Also in the Fitbit App, click profile photo, Sense photo, notifications, App notifications, you can untick Clock, as you don't get a notification when the alarm does go off anyway.

UPDATE; tested removing upcoming notifications works.

As you say having a title is important and the fact that the watch alarm doesn't have it is a real shame when it so easily could. I have escalated this but it hasn't made any progress.

Using Google Assistant to set watch Alarms allows you to assign a title but the app doesn't show it.

Eg. " Set (watch alarm) for coffee at 4pm on July 31st"
