Sudden increase in steps using Sense

This morning, while driving to work today my Sense vibrated telling me I achieved my daily step goal. It added 19,000 steps to my daily total. It was on my wrist and I had not done anything differently to my watch or phone.  Thoughts?

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced with your Fitbit Sense. Thank you for the information provided.

 

Your device has been tested against driving and riding in buses, trains, and other public transportation and shouldn’t add steps when you’re traveling under normal conditions. However, in this case I would recommend restarting your watch by following these instructions.

 

To negate the extra steps from your daily total, please manually log a driving activity for the time you were in the vehicle. For more information, please visit this article and open the menu "How do I delete steps and floors in the Fitbit app?".
