I have a sleeve (tattoos) on my left arm but not on my right arm. I have owned the Versa 1,2,3 and now the Sense. I have found that I cannot wear my tracker on my non-dominant arm due to the tattoos blocking the heart rate sensor from working. I have black ink all around my wrist area. I am uncertain if different inks effect this or not. Does anyone else with tattoos have this issue as well? I first noticed it when my wife was constantly getting good heart rate readings but my watch would always struggle. At first I thought it was just bad or cheap technology, possibly bad hardware. But as I went through more and more watches it dawned on me that the tattoos might be effecting it. Once I tried non dominant my readings became consistant. Had I known this was going to be an issue I would have left a watch shaped empty patch of skin on my left arm!
Also I like to wear my tracker with the face on the bottom of my wrist instead of face up. I have to keep motion wake disable because every time I check my watch the screen turns off and when I relax my screen wakes. I like that they have an option for dominant or non dominant placement. I wish they also offered an option for underside or overside placement of the watch face.

Hi, @slimXradio! Unfortunately, this is a known issue with tattoos. The sensors need to see your veins and often the ink interferes with that.
