On my Fitbit Sense the Today app got deleted by itself. Any solutions to that?
If I decide to reset my watch to factory settings, I will have to set everything up on it from the begining?

I've tried restarting the watch. No help. After few restarts of phone and the Sense I decided to reset the watch. It resolved the problem.

It seems this is a bug, its probably best to inform Fitbit Support directly. They may be able to help you.
However see another user with the same problem

I am having the same problem. Must be a common issue. Did you lose any data by doing a factory reset?

Hi. Not really. All settings and fit data get reverted back to my watch. Only details from extra apps i had to update ( Spotify, Philips Hue, etc.) Fitbit Pay had to be put back again.

@Xonkkram Firstly, A factory reset will delete all data on the watch, and may destroy the watch. As it will be like the original watch at that point it will require a new setup. It is generally not necessary.
Next, which version of the firmware do you have on the watch?
In the phone Fitbit App Click on profile photo [top left] Device photo [middle left] Firmware Version at the top |
Then, Where do you see the Today app is missing?
Once enabled you will see the data.
Click on Steps and it should take you to the Today app - does that happen?
If not, then probably best to contact Fitbit Support directly, they need to know of this common issue. They may be able to help you.

The app was missing and I've checked it everywhere on the watch to know that is gone. Factory reset haven't done any damage. Factory reset is a option with every device to try to fix software issues. I've got a latest firmware. When the app is gone it disapear from widgets. I don't get the point of your previous message.

@Artquad True, but theres a known bug with the factory reset process which in some cases kills the watch. Thats why its not recommended without instruction.
The point about [missing] Widgets is that may be they have just been turned off.
If you enable core stats [if you can?] you will see steps and when you click steps in Widgets it takes you to the Today app [where you get more detailed information],
The Today app may still be there but the visible link may be missing.
It would be good to establish whether the deletion of the Today app completely removes it, and worth talking with Fitbit Support directly. They may be able to help you, and they need to know about this, as its not an isolated case, and for them to research the cause.

My today app is missing from the apps when you swipe left and also I can't see any of my core stats when I swipe up. Also, when I go to "manage," core stats are not an option.

@Xonkkram Thanks for the feedback, that definitely is a fault and useful information.
As other have reported similar problems with the Today, but not in such fine detail, it would be helpful to notify Fitbit Support directly.
@ArtquadIf your case is the same please also contact them.

I worked with Fitbit support and they had me perform a factory reset. This procedure worked for me as well.

@Xonkkram thanks for the update. Glad it's fixed.
What was the reason they gave why it went missing and why a factory reset was necessary to repair it?
I would like to remove the today app and was told it was not possible, so how did you mage to get rid of it in the first place?

I didn't do anything. It was just gone one day. They did not give me any reason why it was missing.

It didn't seem any different. It still tracked all my core stats, I just couldn't see them on the watch.
