Did you mean:

Unable to connect Alexa on Sense

I am stumped 🙄 I've tried everything except for a factory reset.  Cleared cache in Chrome, Fitbit and Alexa.  Even re-installed the Fitbit app.

I still recieve:

"Unable to connect"

"There was an error connecting to your Amazon account. Please try again."

This is on the phone Fitbit app where you connect the account.

It's immediate after the tap so it does not seem like it's even trying.

The Alexa app, the Amazon app and everything else seems to work quite well.

I have a Note 8 and recieved my sense yesterday (latest firmware)

Thanks

Did you ever find a solution for Alexa? I have the same problem than Jim, I've followed all the steps recommended and nothing works.

Every time it connects, it works once, 20-30 minutes after is gone again. Seriously annoying.

@LizzyFitbit

The second Sense did the exact same thing.  Eventually someone at Fitbit said that because I was running Beta Fitbit code on my phone as opposed to the actual release software that the Beta had issues and to revert to the release code so I did that.  That allowed me to install Alexa on my sense.   However, at some point Alexa has now disappeared on my Sense because when I long press the button it asks me if I want to set up an assistant again.   So there is more work to do here for Fitbit for sure...

Make sure you aren't running the Beta code from Fitbit.  In the Google Play store it should show you whether you signed up for the Fitbit Beta program or not, if you did, then get out of the Beta program if you want to get the regular "working" code as the Beta code doesn't work.  I was in the Beta program for 2-3 years and never saw any benefit from it and this was a specific detriment.

No, but I gave up once the Google voice control came out and has worked
fine. Just as well for me as I have several Echos in the house and they
all compete for my attention 😁

I have a new sense and unable to set up alexa. Fitbit agent said it was amazon's fault amazon said I needed to contact Fitbit. Lots of back and forth. I am unable to receive the OTP code from amazon it is not going to my email although it says it has. Can you help?

This affects me too. I've tried all their listed solutions and have yet to reconnect alexa. It started after I updated the fitbit app. Fitbit of course tries to blame Amazon for the error.

Hey, I've just figured out how to do this. Uninstall your Amazon app from your phone then set up the Alexa bit on fitbit and then you can reinstall your Amazon app. Worked fine for me after that.

Thank you so much. I had to do a factory reset due to another issue this morning and have been trying to reconnect alexa all day. Smileyjune123s fix worked for me when all others failed.

Anyone have any luck with this issue?

I have called tech support and they blamed Amazon.

I have tried everything as well, factory reset and then, clear the cache and nothing.

A subsequent call to tech support l yielded a, "there's a known issue and we are looking for a solution."

I'm starting to think fitbit is just making things up as the go.  My friend has an apple watch and never has these issues.

I was actually just going to come in and post this same thing. Mine kept saying there was a bug with the amazon shopping ap. Did yours keep saying that about the bug? Since it kept saying it about the bug that was when I was like Ah ha, wonder if i remove the ap. I did and it worked then i put the ap back on.

Yes look up above. I figured it out on my own also. Just remove that ap then put it back on after your all connected and stuff

I had this issue, talked to Fitbit Support, etc., and couldn't get it to work. Today, I FINALLY got it to work! On my phone (mine is an Android), I went into the Amazon Shopping App, went to the "3-lines" menu on the bottom, and then Scrolled down to "Settings." Under settings, I went to "Not [My Name]? Sign Out". I clicked that and signed out of my account. I then logged back in. I then went back into the Fitbit app, set it up again, and it had no problems logging into my Amazon account and linking Alexa! I think it must somehow use that app on the phone for the login verification. I hope that helps!

This won't wipe all the app setting would it?

I ended up logging out of Amazon Shopping App, then force stopping and uninstalling every Amazon App on my phone (Pixel 4) and tried to link again, it logged into the Amazon Website and logged me in fine. It definitely does not like the Amazon App. This is stupid.

@SunsetRunner I never got a bug report but I did what you said and uninstalled the shopping ap and Alexa works fine again. Thank you for that suggestion! Happy New Year!
