Took my new Versa Sense on a 20 mile bike ride. Wore my old Versa 2 on the other hand connected to my work phone with a different account. Also had Strava running on my personal cell phone.
Results:
Versa Sense: 2856 feet of elevation gain
Versa 2 Using Iphone SE: 481 feet
Strava running on IPhone XR: 543 feet
The elevation graph from the Versa Sense looks a lot more scattered with a lot of extra high frequency dips. Feels like the filtering is not the same and / or the GPS gets a lot of erroneous readings. I did have auto pause enable and did use it a bit.
When I saw the 2856 number and the calories burned I was shocked. Is this a defective unit or is the GPS in the Versa Sense GPS just that bad? This feels like a deal breaker. I so want the Versa Sense to be everything my Versa 2 is with the ECG feature. I could care less about the built in GPS. If it is this bad, I would much rather use the phone GPS which is not an option.
