Nobody here would have any information about that. One could suspect something of that sort with Google's purchase of Fitbit, but that is above the knowledge of anyone here, and Fitbit employees who might know could not tell. And even if there are changes to the OS, we don't know if they would be just for new devices, or if current devices would be adjusted to it.
Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
