Any word on if they will ship some early? I preordered late August and I’m just so excited to receive it 🙂

@Kristina180  I've heard people who have pre-ordered devices and received them early, so it's a possibility these might ship before that date. While you wait, check out the Sense user manual and related articles, so you'll be ready to get things going as quickly as you can get the box open!

I spoke to customer care and they said that they could get shipped earlier as launch date is the 25th. I know that every Pixel phone I have ordered from Google were shipped out 2-3 days prior to launch date so that us early birds that pre ordered on day one will have them on the launch date. For Pixel 3 and Pixel 4a last month I received them both a day before official launch date. I am hopeful to have our two Sense devices in hand on the 25th or 26th. Fingers crossed!

That sounds encouraging @mikeyt1818  but Fitbit is not owned by Google. The offer was tendered, but it's still stuck in the legalities that accompany such a big purchase. How are the Pixel phones? I'm thinking of getting one when my Samsung Galaxy S8 is ready to put on the shelf.

I prefer stock Android so I love Pixel phones and buy every single non XL phone they make. I was not insinuating that the FTC approved the Google - Fitbit deal but the example was that many companies ship out online ordered products a couple of days before release date so that they arrive on the date that they were announced to be released. Customer service told me that is a distinct possibility. Granted I can wait a few more days as my Versa 2 is still working well. I would recommend the Pixel 4a for $349 to see how you like stock Android by the way. The Pixel 5 release is imminent and with the Snapdragon 765 and 5G it will be a great phone but same screen size as the 4a which is using a surprisingly speedy Snapdragon 730. I am very pleased with it. Battery life and no bezels blows the Pixel 4 out of the water imo. Rant over! Lol!

Thanks for the tip on the phone. A friend just got an unlocked Moto E and it is a thing of beauty. Best of all, she set it up and her Zip was able to sync without any problem. Android has been good to me, so here's hoping my first Pixel phone will be, too. Although, I must admit, for the tiniest of moments, I really thought that Moto E phone could be a possibility...

A shipping mistake on behalf of the shipping company and you may get it later than anyone else. Then the pre-order "benefit" get defeated.

It's always possible during these dark times but I paid for overnight for one of the two devices so it will be interesting to see how it pans out. I will keep you posted!

It would be nicer if they gave a better incentive though. The pre-order thing was for them to gather data on how many people have initial interest and how many items they should order/dispatch to other countries.

No real benefit for the user. Of course a pre-order guarantees that you'll get it a tiny bit earlier like with products of any company. But all other companies give an extra something....

Yes I am a bit disappointed that the free premium trial is only extended to new premium users. My wife and I both have used free trials when we got our Versa 2 devices. We will continue to pay because I do like the extra information in the sleep tracking app. As someone with Sleep Apnea I do find it to be useful. I do not use the other premium features so I will they would offer $4.95 per month for "Premium Lite". Maybe $12.95 for a family plan could work? Anyway I do agree that there is little incentive, if any, to buy this right away if you are a current Fitbit customer but I have an addiction to buying new tech on the day it goes on pre-order, I have done so with every Pixel Phone and the Pixelbook and the Pixelbook go. Perhaps there should be a feature that sends a shock into my wrist every-time I buy stuff impulsively! Lol

''but I have an addiction to buying new tech on the day it goes on pre-order''

and they know that. This info is very valuable. Tech-dependency is a thing and there's lots of money to be made. Millions ! The thrill is huge but not for the customer.

@SunsetRunner That's funny, you just answered your own question.

Q: Why don't give they better incentives for pre-order?? I want incentives!

A: Because they don't have to! They make millions from the tech-dependent addicts without giving anything away at all.

You could have your own discussion forum all by yourself. You ask questions and then you answer them. 😄

I just did the pre-order because the deadline was 9/15. In my confirmation email, it says it'll ship late October! I hope they are wrong for sure.

It could be that demand is greater than their initial supply; if that's the case, those that ordered later will be getting theirs later. It's the same with other popular electronics (I see this all the time with Apple stuff, if you order "too late", you shipping date is pushed way out).

Nope is 9/25 or before confirmed by Fitbit. My order is charged and processing!
