The main reason I have a Fitbit was for the challenges and daily competing with friends. Why did that stop?

Hi @RyanHartt it happened a while back and many have asked for it to return. You can use your Fitbit stats to compete at Stridekick with your friends. There is a free version and that's what many of my friends are doing. It's a way to compete in different challenges, including making sure we drink enough water and even take time to read each day. You might want to explore it.

Yes, but Ryan is asking WHY it stopped. You didn't answer his question. Please don't gaslight the community.

Well, hackers would use the challenges to gain access to people's accounts, caused missing steps, and other weird things... Happened to me all of the sudden I had 30,000 steps and they attempted to to change my password.

@SunsetRunnerI'm not gaslighting anyone. Fitbit states in their Terms of Service that their various services can be changed at any time without warning. They did warn us about challenges being removed and many of us went to Stridekick where we still compete. I don't know as we'll ever know the "whys" of anything any company does - just that it happens.

Hi @Jdsenter that makes sense to me. Many in the challenges got chatty and that alone can give a hacker enough info to gain entry into someone's account. On Stridekick, I only do challenges with the same group I did on Fitbit and it's safer not to accept strange requests.

It’s too bad these hackers ruin such a good thing. I realize this happened a long time ago, I just figured it would try and find out why. Thanks for the idea of the other app…I will look into it.
