Why does the Sense Weather app require constant syncing?

Why does the weather app require constant syncing? Every morning I get up, look at my Sense, and weather is blank. I typically have to sync a couple of times during the day also. Isn’t there a constant link that keeps this updated?

The reason is because the Sense does not connect directly to the Internet for updating built-in apps, they are updated through the Fitbit app on the phone.  I would be nice if it were able to update apps such as the weather directly on a regular basis, though.

Yeah it appears you have to go to the app to refresh it. It's a bit disappointing that the watch cannot be more independent and not require going to the app as much. This is was something not many would think would be the case.

When I open the weather app, if it hasn't recently updated, I'm told a sync is needed. At this time, the weather app reaches out to the Fitbit app and requests an update. Within a minute I usually can see the weather.
