My fitbit stopped working after the latest update about 3 weeks after the warranty expired. They offered me a 35% discount on a new watch. Great....no thank you.

The issues:

Can't add a amex to my wallet

No longer getting notifications

Not correctly reading my sleep patterns

I tried a hard reset.

Factory reset

Deleted the app

Restarted the android phone

Reinstalled the app and added the old watch as a new one.

Maybe one item I listed is out of order, but trying everything to get it working again.

And fitbit says too bad. How horrible for a lousy 3 weeks over the 1 year window!!

In case there are fitbit people here,  it's case 46416289.i refuse to believe Google and fitbit can't do better. Fix my watch,  send me a refurbished watch,  have a tech walk me through the process,  something.... the update ruined my watch!

Hi, @SunsetRunner welcome to the community.

I assume you are talking about the update to the phone app rather than to the "Sense", correct me if I'm wrong.

You might have noted you are not the only person having problems with Amex cards, in order for the Fitbit wallet to work it needs input from the issuing bank. I have found in the past the handshake may take repeated attempts. This is not necessarily a Fitbit issue.

Sometimes an update results in your original settings being disturbed. May I suggest you review How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device? From the Today screen on your Fitbit app on your phone touch your icon in the top left corner>Sense tile>notifications>make sure the slider in the top right is in the on position>touch each category in turn select the source for the default app, make sure the slider in the top right is in the "on" position. In-app notifications select Fitbit & any others you want. Return to the today screen & sync. I apologise if you have already been through these steps. Next, in the Sense swipe to "settings" >quiet modes>turn Do not disturb off>sleep mode off>make sure the schedule mode is off. Return to the clock screen.

So far as sleep patterns are concerned may I draw your attention to How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?

which may offer you a way forward. You do not mention the make or model of the phone you are using but I assume it worked well with the Fitbit app previously. If you reloaded the Fitbit app recently you should be aware that the app now requires Android 10 or higher.

I hope this is helpful but if you are still stuck please post here again.

Cheers

first off, thank you for taking the time to answer the question.
I tried each and every suggestion you offered because even thorough it was
done more than once, electronics are silly, and sometimes the best answer
is simply to turn it off, reboot, and the gremlins go away like magic.
that said, sadly, those did not work for my sense. for the record, I'm
paired with a Samsung galaxy s20fe 5g.running android 12
prior to the update, everything was indeed working just fine. fitbit seems
pretty intent that they just can't replace the unit because it's 3 weeks
after the warranty date. I'm going to keep posting in forums and climb the
corporate ladder until I get someone to help.
thanks again,
lou

Hi, @SunsetRunner, thanks for the feedback, very frustrating. The warranty is clear (as you would expect), and you might like to consider alternative options. Depending on where you live (Jurisdiction) you may be entitled to additional protection under local legislation. I did read of a case in the US where the buyer used a credit card which had an extended guarantee in its terms and conditions, I have no experience of this but it's worth looking into. You should also consider your home contents insurance, though this will include a franchise (deductible) and a claim would impact your next year's premium.

I'm sorry I can't be more helpful.

Cheers

Sadly it was a qvc card. No help there. Good thinking about home insurance,
but not worth a premium issue either. Enjoy your weekend!
