Yet more unwanted changes to the app

Having made major changes to the App a few weeks ago you now make yet more. When is this uncalled for activity going to stop?   Like many other users I will research alternative makes of watch.

Hi @Tonymarris - probably best to post in "The redesigned Fitbit app is rolling out!" topic in the appropriate iOS or Android app forums along with the other unhappy users where you will see more fully the issues.

Unfortunately it would seem likely you are stuck with this version officially. Though there may be some tweaks over time already mentioned there. This could take months to get this test version (requiring reworking) to anywhere near how the previous version was.

@Tonymarris   I'm a long time Fitbit user.  This is my third major app update.  This update differs from others, because of Google's acquisition of Fitbit.  Users who are more enmeshed in the Google ecosystem will recognize design similarities between this update and other Google/Made by Google products.  Fitbit gave us a sneak peek of this update in August.  The additional changes that I see are all pages that I saw in the Sneak Peek or other Google promotions that weren't part of the initial release.  Fitbit announced that it will make some updates in response to user feedback.  I hope further changes will make the app more unified, but I understand and respect your opinion.

@Guy_   You repeatedly refer to this update as a test, or even a beta version.  This is neither a test nor a beta version.  Fitbit doesn't release beta versions to the public.

@LZeeW - regardless of any official definition for the new app, given the number of issues with the new app it appears to have been released before it was fully tested which has ended up with users having to live with the errors while they are sorted out, this is often referred to as testing.

As reported by many users the new app suffers from a lack of design, in that it is not meeting user requirements either.

I’m not happy that the battery percentage was removed from the App main screen top.

@Curt70Young   Fitbit listened to user feedback and is putting the battery percentage back on the app.  Fitbit Community Blog  There is no time frame for its release.

@LZeeW it does. Android users can join beta program in Google Play.

@Triletics  As an iPhone user, I obviously don't have access to that page.  I suspect it takes you to a sign up similar to the web version: beta.fitbit.com  Prospective field testers fill out a profile and must sign a participation agreement (NDA).  True field testing is done by Fitbit Field Testers.  A released version isn't a test version.

@LZeeW on Android you have such option:

Screenshot_20231112_222148_Google Play Store.jpg

I used that a few times and this way I had new app version before releasing it. Also, one time I had version that never got released. The problem with beta program is that sometimes I got stuck with beta version 🤷 for some reason, the released build didn't install. So I quit beta.

I agree that current version isn't beta. It's just unfinished and untested product. Beta usually is a full feature product released as beta to iron out remaining bugs. Current Fitbit app is not even there yet. Fitbit's software development practices are truly unique.

@Curt70Young, they release the iPhone update with tracker battery percent. Love it that Fitbit is a Google company but the iPhone app always seems to be favored over the Android version.

Google, please update the Android version so it has the same features the iPhone version has, always had both versions because they had different capabilities.

Fitbit Ionic 72.1.15 (recalled), Fitbit Sense 128.6.17 and Pixel Watch 2 BW1A.250605.004.
