"Bluetooth Connection-brake" warning

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

So I left the :house: without taking my mobile phone with me. It didn't warn me that the Bluetooth connection between them has been broken.

It's a very useful feature God **ahem** it. Every fitness tracker, even the cheapest ones' have this feature.

So have you voted? Or just letting your fellow Fitbit users know..

One issue is that to conserve battery life, Fitbit doesn't keep an active Bluetooth connection.

@Rich_Laue  you got to be kidding me. There are people asking for it since 2014. 6 years later they didn't give a **ahem** about what people want . I think they made it obvious till today.

Kidding because I mention that your asking in the community help section for Fitbit to add a function.

Adding this function will also require fitbit to necessitate a change in Bluetooth and greatly reduce battery life to about a day at most two days.

Right now with no continuous Bluetooth connection, the tracker will never know that the phone was left behind.

One way this might be added is flirting a sync, have the phone tell the tracker when the next sync will be. If the tracker dies not get a sync request at this time, let the user know. However the user may already be a 15 minute drive away.

Hi @Rich_Laue it is entirely possible to do this as Garmin manage to do it with their watches and still manage anything from 7-21 days battery life depending on the watch. BLE is extremely light on battery so could easily be used for this feature without impacting too much on battery life.
