Redesigned Sleep experience now in the Fitbit app

Hi everyone! Starting today, you may notice a new sleep experience in your Fitbit app. If you don't have it right away, please be patient as it can take some time to reach all users.

Check out what’s new by going to the Fitbit Community blog

What do you think? Let us know!

Hate it..

I don’t like the new look - I find it much harder to see what my sleep was like at a glance. I preferred the bold blue look. Is there any way to revert to the older display?

Best Answer

Please call the FitBit Customer Service number and lodge a complaint and ask for them to restore the previous sleep tracking appearance. The number can be Googled. That is the only way we are ever going to get it changed back. They are not reading and/or do not care what we post here.

I don’t like it. I used to see more data and it was organized better. I wish I could go back. I also don’t like the shades of green and grey everything has been changed to.

That would be sad because I have an iPhone and there are a lot of iPhone users who don’t want to go to an Apple Watch because of the extremely short battery life of those. I would like to stay with Fitbit but they’re making it increasingly difficult 😞

I hope they realize they have a lot of iPhone users who want to stay ( despite the horrible sleep graphics now!)

Definitely not an improvement.  Ever since Fitbit came under Google each change has been a downgrade and not an upgrade.

I too, find the new graphics more difficult to understand. But the thing I most need is the ability to edit the sleep log. For example, I watched a movie before going to bed and it drastically altered my score. No vitriol, hopefully just constructive feedback.

I suggested and then after no response from FitBit complained mightily to them to change the routes for biking, walking, etc. back to contrasty colors, that the current low contrast routes with "light", "moderate", "vigorous", and "peak" lack visual impact. With all the pixels available today, they had to chose murky colors that don't stand out against each other as they did before. Never got any response. Maps and charts should have "punch"...Fitbits now have zero punch. These apps are VISUAL and should be designed with that in mind.

I agree that spamming their customer service phone lines might be the only way to get their attention… this feedback has to reach the product team and that’s only going to happen by overwhelming customer support with a huge influx. I will be calling tomorrow.

For those looking for another device, the Oura ring is very expensive but has very good sleep tracking and graphics. I ended up returning it as I was happy with my Fitbit at the time, but am considering buying again only for sleep. Note, their exercise tracking is much worse so in my case I will still keep Fitbit for workout tracking, but clearly can’t use it for sleep anymore.

Also I work in tech, and even though they said there’s no way to revert back - they obviously can if the product team chooses to. What they mean is they’ve chosen not to build that functionality and are forcing this degraded experience on us.

Striving to improve???? What a joke!! They are laughing at us!! If they are not willing to go back to the previous format it’s clear to me that they have absolutely no regard to their premium users! It really is unbelievable and out of order! Well done FitBit you have just managed to p*** Off a valued customer!!

I called them 2xs. First time to report a glitch, 2nd time to say, I guess
you did this intentionally! LOL

Not sure why they are asking for feedback when all say it’s HORRIBLE!

Are they trying to get more on their premium?

I was very happy with the old version. And it was the reason I've remained a Fitbit user for 8 years. If we don't have a choice to go back to that version or the new one isn't improved hugely I'll be jumping ship and going to Apple.

Thanks for sharing. I was relieved to see that albeit I'd prefer to be able to access it on the app. However it doesn't show benchmarking which is important to me. But thanks again.

I was actually referring to the App but I didn't make that clear. I'd never see it at all on my Sense.  Also, I'm new on here and am still figuring out how to post and respond so please bear with me

Maybe we should not only call but let them know we are taking our business
elsewhere. There are other affordable options. Unfortunately many of these
companies only care when it affects the bottom line.
