Redesigned Sleep experience now in the Fitbit app

Hi everyone! Starting today, you may notice a new sleep experience in your Fitbit app. If you don't have it right away, please be patient as it can take some time to reach all users.

Please stop lying to us and trying to convince us that you care about our feedback. This has made it abundantly clear that you have no respect for your users Whatsoever. Why ask when you don’t read don’t care don’t follow any of what we say? It couldn’t be more clear after the millions of “down votes” you’ve gotten on this app “upgrade” aka destruction. Be sure to check your “oxygen meter” while you’re holding your breath, hoping we will ever buy another Google product. And Fitbit, thanks a lot for abysmally betraying and trashing all your previously loyal clients. Greed is an ugly master.

Actually, it was like that before the upgrade, which was disturbing. But still not as disturbing as this total destruction of the app.

Greatly prefer the former sleep tracker.

If you are wearing your Fitbit watch if it is charged 40% or more it will automatically start sleep mode.

Sensors monitor biometric changes such as heart rate, breathing rate, and motion.

Slowing rates indicate you are falling asleep which then starts and tracks sleep duration and sleep levels.

Absolutely do Not like the sleep info redesign. Harder to find the data I care about. Why mess with content that worked perfectly?

Completely agree!

Received the update today. A major step backwards. Really disappointing. Enough to stop using FitBit. Please roll back to the significantly better previous sleep tracking features.

Don’t like the new graphics at all. Heart rate missing, and the graph for each phase of sleep does not look good with all 4 sleep stages on top of each other.  I use it to monitor my sleep closely. No heart rate and breathing is now just a percentage, not a graph. Before the information was most helpful. Now, not so much. Once again, change for the sake of change. Looks bad.

Thanks Google.

What I miss the most is being able to expand the graph.

10 years as a member here (10 years!), and Fitbit has never done anything as bad as the redesign of the interface, especially for sleep. I got on a chat with the support people to tell them how dissatisfied I was. Here’s what I wrote…

I use the device for sleep tracking, and the new user interface in the mobile app is terrible. It’s impossible to find the information that you’re looking for compared to the prior version of the mobile app. You obviously did not do adequate user testing on whether people can make sense of the display.

First the Fitbit rep tells me I can’t roll back to the prior version of the app. Obviously he’s gotten that question many times <eyeroll>. And then he gives me a URL where I can post my comment. Only he gives me a 404 within the Fitbit community <nother eyeroll>.

I’ve given Fitbit and now Google a lot of my money for this crap. Probably time to look elsewhere.

It's so hard to believe the creators of this new sleeping app believed it was not only functional but user friendly. It's terrible in every way! I have shown this to several IT friends and each one thought it was a terrible design. I am asking you to please bring back the old app. It was wonderful in every way. PLEASE!!

I hate it. It also no longer records naps (with more than 3 hrs of data). If I manually add them (which I shouldn't have to), I get no sleep data at all for the nap.

Don't fix what's not broken. This completely sucks and did nothing to improve the experience. It made it infinitely worse. This will be my last Fitbit.

Nope. That was a bunch of mumbo jumbo ad speak to justify their nonsensical changes they made to justify keeping their jobs.

I absolutely hate it!

I'm sorry Fitbit I surely wish you would consult your users when you do a user interface change. I found the new sleep data hard to read and misleading. One of the users Below had indicated that when they take a nap or sleep parts of the night and wake up that their data is skewed to indicate only partial sleep periods, not the consecutive sleep that the old app displayed. Having pretty bad eyes I'm finding myself hating the new display. Would be great if you could give us the option to use the old display? I didn't really like the colors on the old display and it would be great if we could have selected our own colors, but if you can't figure that out the old display would do.  I also find it interesting that we're not giving the option to indicate thumbs down- disapproval

I'm sorry but I really don't like this new graph. I wish it would go back to the old one. Much easier to read. Thank you

Why did you folks change the sleep tracker info on the app? As you can see, the majority of us really liked it and used it. The way the new app data is displayed makes it hard to read and find the info I want. The old format was great. Please go back to the old format, or give users a choice. Let us chose the old format. As others have said, this makes having a fitbit much less helpful or valuable. Please fix this soon. It is beyond annoying.
