Redesigned Sleep experience now in the Fitbit app

Hi everyone! Starting today, you may notice a new sleep experience in your Fitbit app. If you don't have it right away, please be patient as it can take some time to reach all users.

Please give us the option to choose which format to use and see how many people switch back to the old one - I suspect it will be the majority of users that actually use the app daily. I really hope someone in product is actually reading these comments and does something about it. 🙏

I don’t like the new sleep display, not as easy to read as it was previously.

Why change what’s working?

Why do you change things when it's not broken?  Is this a make work project?  The new sleep and exercise interfaces are not as good as the old one.

So I called FitBit and asked them to process a warranty request, and he said I had to factory reset and test again, and if that didn't work (of course that didn't work) they would process the warranty request.  Now even though I did what they told me to do, and they told me they documented it all, now they are refusing to honor the warranty.

Trying to force us to go Pixel, NO thank you, I will be switching to Garmin.

No one is looking and they don’t care what the community thinks. They are never going back to the old design. If people in the community don’t like it they will have to vote with their wallets. There are other trackers out there that aren’t run by Google.

It looks sooooo bad.

@ Jennylpaul .... I don't know why when they changed the app why they didn't add a link describing how to use the new format!  Really ticks me off.
Early on someone posted a picture I saw which helped me.  I don't know how to do that, but if you go to the top of this page RebeccaFitbit has a link.

Instead of saying instructions for using the new design can be found here, she said "Check out what's new by going to the Fitbit Community blog and provided a link. Maybe that is clear to most, but I had no idea she was directing us to the instructions.  Actually only a few on the instructions are mentioned.

You'll see this (my screenshot) with the timeline moving.  When you press and hold the line...  FYI you can't see a line until you press/touch the bottom of the graph. Then move the line across the graph to see the times.  I'm seriously miffed that they didn't at least link to the instructions when they forced this change on us.  What are we mind readers!!?!

If you press benchmark you'll se a graph similar to the one we like (but still a downgrade). The graph displays the amount of time spent in each stage which compares it to 'people like you'

Directions to view the time you were in each stage are:

So very many more replies than this - you are listening Rebecca, because someone is taking them all down, so why won't you reply?  It's not going away.  No one is liking it any better.  Lots of people are openly discussing how they are moving to other, definitively non Google brands, but still nothing, utter silence.  Why did you ask us what we think??? Why did you say 'let us know!', oh so cheerily??? We don't like it.  It doesn't get better with time.  It's awful. Do you think in the end, we will give up and go away?  I would like a response, Rebecca, since so many of us have take time out of busy routines to give you the feedback you requested, and not simply the individual responses where you tell me that you are removing my posts.  I would like a response to all these people in this community, who total well over 2000 (who knows now, maybe nearer 3000, but they are constantly removed), who have given you feedback and asked you one very reasonable question - why?  Why did the organisation decide to take the best feature on the app, often the principal reason that people decided to invest in the tracker in the first place, and change it, to reduce its functionality and make it less pleasant and easy to use?  Come on Rebecca - please, give us a response, even if it is just to tell us you don't care and want us all to get lost.

Couldn’t have said it better!!

They’re not bringing anything back. They don’t care what their current users think. This is very obvious since people have been complaining since September. The only way to get to them is to vote with your wallet and walk away to another, better fitness tracker

Excellent case, which you put so well. If I end up dumping Fitbit I’ll certainly not buy a Google watch. Trust is being lost and many of us are looking for total alternatives to Google. Rebecca, dare you reply!

I HATED the new sleep app - was it even ADA compliant because even with my reading glasses I could not make out the dashed lines. Much to my relief I noticed today it switched back to the original high-contrast app with graphs. THANK YOU. Why would Fitbit change something that was perfectly fine to begin with?

Absolutely HATE the new sleep tracking. Everything about it is terrible. I liked it the way it was - and thanks why I chose a Fitbit.  I have tried to work with the new app. I have been open minded. But I really hate it. The sleep stages graph is unreadable.  Going back to the app before the changes would be so much better.
