Sleep score only once in a while

Hello all—

I am a premium user but only get a sleep score about ten to fifteen times a month.  I'll get one for 7 or 8 nights, and then nothing for 10 ten nights.  It just goes on like that.  I've tried all the normal corrections over the past year including restarting, deleting and replacing the app, changing position on my wrist and tightness, etc.  I even bought a new one and wore it for a week or so but eventually sent it back because the same erratic scoring happened with it.  It does track my heart rate just fine, including when I'm sleeping.  Just curious about whether others are having this problem.  With the erratic tracking, I only occasionally get a sleep profile.  Most months I don't have the 14 days required sleep score.  Any thoughts?  I like the fitbit otherwise since I'm mainly tracking zone minutes.  I'm using an Inspire 3 but also tried a Versa to no avail.  Thanks, Mickey

Hi @MickeyMc. Good to see you participating in the community.

Thank you for sharing the details regarding the situation with Sleep score.

I was wondering if the mobile device you're syncing with is included in our list of supported devices? You can see the list at: Which phones and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker?

Keep in mind that you must see sleep stages in order to see your sleep score information. Please swipe left on the Sleep Score graph, here you can see information about your weekly sleep average and sleep duration. To get more detailed information, see: What's sleep score in the Fitbit app?

Note that we are aware of Sleep Score may take longer than usual to appear in the app. We’re currently working to resolve it and hope to have a fix soon. Be sure to keep your Fitbit device and app up-to-date to ensure you receive the quickest resolution.

If you are not receiving sleep stages, I recommend considering the following:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

I’m having the same problem as MickeyMc.  Did everything they did, delete, restart, new watch, still the same old story with no real resolution.  I downloaded the app on an apple device.  Would this make a difference?  I bought my sense for the specific purpose of sleep tracking and heart metrics. At this point I’m wondering if I should just get an Apple Watch.
