Well I am now being sent number 4. In Tangerine, as they are out of black ones.
First one died with cracking round the screws after 9 months, screen was also non responsive. Second one was a DOA with a broken home button. Third one, the band bubbled at the front and has now peeled completely away after only 3 months. I guess I am fairly active, running, cycling, walking and swimming (no swimming with the Surge) but it does seems a rather poor rate of attrition.
To Fitbit's credit their replacement process is really good. And the option was there for fifty percent off another tracker... but, well, no... will give this new snazzy orange number a workout and that will be it, if the band breaks again it is time to look at something else. Which is a shame because band issues aside I really DO like the Surge. It works. Just please, Fitbit, if you do a Surge 2, you know, 10 Euro replacement bands? The ones on EBay and other places available now mean you have to fiddle with the BT antenna which is a bit silly. Oh and make it waterproof. And put the heart rate on the front in place of the date. I know what the date is. Thanks.
