Hello everyone, I usually run on my treadmill in my basement and once I complete my exercise the information logged on my Surge is ALWAYS shorter than the information on my treadmill. I cant figure out how to edit the run length, etc to match the treadmill. Should I be using a different category on surge to track the run or just manually enter it? If manually entered, how does it track my heart rate during run?
Sorry long post....thanks for any and all help.

Hi, @SunsetRunner, how are you tracking using your Surge? Are you starting your treadmill run on the Surge using exercise shortcuts? When you say the run length is wrong, are you referring to distance or to time?
If it is distance that is wrong, for an indoor run (i.e without GPS) the only way your Surge can compute distance is by stride length multiplied by number of steps. That means that either the number of steps is wrong, or your stride length setting is wrong.
The number of steps can be wrong if you are holding on to the sides of the treadmill. Your Surge will need to detect your steps and it will only detect them accurately if your arms are hanging freely while you are on the treadmill.
If the number of steps seems accurate, but the distance is still wrong, you may need to adjust your stride length. The instructions for doing this for outdoor walking / running are here . You may need a little trial and error to alter this for indoor, treadmill running.
I hope this helps. Please do post again with further information if you need more assistance to get your Surge recording your indoor runs more accurate.

Thanks for such a detailed response @Julia_G, I greatly appreciate it. I use one of the exercise shortcuts and usually go to the Run setting, then select treadmill when I start my run. I never run with my hands on the rails and it is uisually arms moving freely in pace with my steps/stride. I think it may be my stride length so I have started the process of determining my stride and already this morning I have changed my settings in my app...hopefully it is better from here on out but I still want to fine tune my running stride length with some drills to ensure it is as close as possible.
