My Fitbit surge has broken within the last week and won’t turn on although this isn’t the problem itself as it was old.
on the app I am trying to view my ‘activity status’ from this month but will not let me access anything. I’m not too sure whether this is because I have no Fitbit too connect it with but feel there should be a way to access my activity’s from the month.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Have you tried the computer to view monthly status?

If you removed the tracker from your Fitbit account, yes that would be the reason.
If the tracker is still connected to your account, you should be able to see past data.

The app functions perfectly fine without any trackers added to the account, think of when you first installed Fitbit and the app ran without a tracker. As Fitbit stores data on their servers and not our local devices, just connecting should show your past data. In addition to the app, you can try your phone's browser on fitbit.com and see if your data shows there to determine if your data is truly deleted/missing or simply a problem with the app. Additionally, until acquiring a new tracker, you can use mobile sync to have your phone track Fitbit steps! www.fitbit.com/devices

The app will work fine, but the dashboard will only display the type of data, even past data, that the current connected tracker can record.
With no tracker connected, at best you should see default calorie burn for the day.
