The battery meter in the app only shows full, approximately half full, then almost empty. The battery meter on the Surge is more accurate, it has a battery meter more like a phone and drops in small increments.
Ther meter on the app doesn't change from full until you have used at least 1/3 or so of the Surge's battery. I would use the battery meter on the Surge for accuracy and just use the meter on the app as a general guide. I hope this helps.
the battery meter on the Surge can be nearly 0 for 2-3 days before powering down.
not accurate.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @mantababe. Please perform a restart to your tracker. If this doesn't work, it could be a good idea turning it off and then back on. To turn your Surge off go to Settings > Shutdown. Let me know how it goes.
Thanks for stopping by, see you around.

My fitbit Surge does the same thing and the solution does not work for me. The indicator on the surge shows emtpy but in the app it shows full. I have tried resetting my bluetooth on both devices, restarting my phone and fitbit. Some reason the battery indicator is not synching but everything else is.

I had same thing as well.
The phone would indicate that it is full when battery indicator in Surge would be 75%.
So it is about 25% difference on the phone (higher) and the Surge (lower).
It is very bothersome.

Hello everyone. If you haven't done it already, I would recommend setting up your Fitbit trackers as replacement devices. Additionally, you can uninstall and reinstall the app.
Have a nice day.

Thanks, Edson.
After sync'ing three times (that is I closed the app, reopened it...), the battery icon finally did change.
I'm curious about why it takes so long - can you give any insight?

@Woodloper I'm glad to hear the app is showing the battery level correctly once again. Some other users are experiencing this situation and the engineering team is investigating. For some of them it gets resolved performing the workarounds provided.
Catch you later.

Hello, @bulldog2016! Thanks for joinin us! Hmm...what device are you using to sync? I suggest you to log out from the App and log back in. You can also forcequit the App and reboot your device. After this sync again and you should be back on track.
If the issue persists please provide us as much details so we can further assist you.
