Bike mode stops too soon, when on pause

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I use bike mode very frequently, and when I stop for a break, I press pause and then resume ...

Usually it lasted aprox. 20minutes before it auto-stops the session (frustrating but OK), but lately it stops already after 5 minutes.....trip summary pops up, and I cannot resume the existing session....

So the map is not in one piece, when I come home...and so is not the stats...

Any idea what might be wrong, or what to do ???

Thanx in advance...

Hello @Pa3cija, good to see you around. I've seen testing this and as you mentioned, it last around 15 or 20 minutes in pause until it stop automatically the activity. It shouldn't last less time. I can recommend a restart if is something wrong with the internal software of the tracker. If you need the steps for the procedure here is a post I've shared with another user, it might be of you help.

Let me know how it goes and hope to see you later.

Yes, it's a real PAIN not having the 'Oh so common' auto stop on my Fitbit Surge...!! I no longer pause my bike rides due to this GLITCH.....as I don't then have a complete ride to view.  I have to also use Map My Ride on my phone to get an acurate timing for my bike rides.....come on Fitbit, bring in Auto Pause, before we have to change watches.....  😞

Hi, thanks for your message.

I don't pause my rides anymore because my Fitbit Surge automatically just stops the ride after some time causing me to have to reset the watch for a new ride, stopping the continuity of my bike ride. Do you have any idea why ?

I see many many users have queried why Fitbits do not have auto pause like other activity watches.....I now also use MapMyRide on mysmart phone too as back up, ensuring I get true readings for my trips, as even MapMyRide has autopause on the phone app....

Kind regards,

Brian
