First of all, I have read the help article on how to measure the stride and undertsand it. My issue is understanding the answer and adjusting the numbers to set it up into the stride length info.

Let me try to help with an example. I'll use imperial measurements.

I take a walk and using a GPS know the distance to be 5.4 miles

I was wearing my fitbit and it said I walked 13,200 steps during that time

First I need to convert the distance to feet. So, using good old google, 5.4 miles equals 28,512 feet

I then calculate the distance for each step: so, 28512 divided by 13200 gives 2.16 feet

Unfortunately, the profile settings want us to use feet and inches. The feet bit is easy: that's 2. To get the inches we multiply the .16 by 12 to get 1.9. Therefore the stride is 2 feet and 1.9 inches.
