Hi
I currently have a fitbit one and I am looking for a new tracker. I am curious about music control with the surge, so I can connect spotify through it and I no longer need to carry my phone with me for music when running outside? My thought is if I still have to carry my phone then I would look at the Blaze instead of the surge and I can use that for music and for GPS....or switch over to Garmin and look at their forerunners. Appreciate any feedback. Thanks
Lori

Thanks Mike. In your opinion Surge or Blaze? If I have to carry my phone any music then I can use the GPS on my phone via mapmyrun or runkeeper. Am I missing something? Appreciate any feeback you can give me on making this decision! Thanks!

I suspect you're spot on. Although I'm not sure you get the always on display with the Blaze? But you won't suffer the broken band problems many Surge owners have.
The Surge may have its own GPS but it really runs the battery down fast.
If I was planning on buying one now I think it would be a Blaze not a Surge.

Believe that the screen of the Blaze turns on when raising your wrist.

So similar to the Surge option to turn the backlight on. That would probably be OK for most people. The Blaze certainly looking to be a better option. I'd be interested to know if they've improved the HR monitoring behaviour.

I hope you're doing great @chris2121! Both are great trackers one of the features I like the most is the color touchscreen and the improvements of the music control, you can learn more about the Blaze on this article.
Hope it helps!

The Blaze certainly looks good. But only time will tell if it's better at the really important things.
Ironically, music control doesn't work on my Surge and I no longer get text and call notifications. The concept is great but my experience isn't so good.
