Just got a present of the fitbit surge. Anyone used for a marathon? Doing my first at end of the month and wondering if it will last!

@GBaz,

The 5 hours was a number Fitbit published on the initial release.  They have since tweaked their GPS collection algorithm to be significantly more battery efficient.  In fact, if you look at the product page for the Surge, they now list:

"Lasts longer than competing trackers with a battery life up to 7 days and GPS battery life up to 10 hours" (with their regular disclaimers)

I hope this helps.

Hello @GBaz,

Welcome to the community!

I guess that depends on how long it'll take you to finish.  I wore my Surge (with GPS enabled) for a five hour hike and it worked just fine.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for that. Hoping to be well inside 5 hours. I usually wear a garmin which lasts over 10 hours so never had to worry. I just read with GPS on fitbit has 5 hour batt life
