Clock is off, won't sync, Bluetooth won't recognize

I've been reading these troubleshooting forums like a novel, to no avail. I noticed something was wrong when the time was a few hours off, at that point I tried a forced sync, this was when I realized it just plain wouldn't sync. This has happened before (the not syncing part) so I tried what had worked the last time, which was to 'forget' the device and delete the app and then reinstall. Now my iPhone doesn't recognize my surges exsistence. I tried the factory reset, also nothing. The surge still functions as a stand alone device, GPS and all, it just won't communicate with my phone. It's making me feel so lost as I've been using it for the last year and a half 😞
Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions?

When ypu say that you told the phone to forget the device,  this was done through the phones Bluetooth screen?

A normal sync through the app, should reconnect it,

My suggestion would be the 2 button reset, turn the Blaze off through its settings menu. Then a restart of the phone, better yet a complete shutoff of the phone.

The Surge does not have the ability to do a factory reset, which would then require a complete setup of the Surge as a replacement device.

The time time is off because it hasnt synced recently.

yes, I had the phone forget the device through Bluetooth. Prior to doing that I attempted a forced sync through the app multiple times over a few days, none of them ever went through.
There is a factory reset for the surge, which I've also tried multiple times, as well as signing out of my account and deleting the app, updating my phone to the most current iOS, fully shutting the phone down, restarting and reinstalling the app, signing in and trying to get the phone to read the surge through Bluetooth. None of this has worked thus far.
I got to the point that I was completely willing to have all my information deleted in the hopes that it was the solution to the problem, however it has proved unsuccessful.

There is 2 types of restarts that can be done on tje Surge, a hard restart by holding the left and right button simultaneously for 15 seconds, now wait for the display to turn off. Now press a buttun to turn it on.

The other way is to go into the sertings menu on the Surge and do a shutdown. Neither one is a factory reset that would erase everything on the Surge and require setting it up as a replacement device. But i csn assure you that there is not a factory reset for the Surge.

Hints to fix would be to try both types of restarts,  restart the phone, add the Surge as a replacement  unit. Turn off the Bluetooth of any nearby device that Surge has ever synced through. Check the tips in the help document, http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1866/

Edit the title of the post to reflect that you have an iOS device, which would make it easier to get answers from iOS users.
