Eliptical entered twice - with different numbers

Hi All...

I used my Surge this morning to track my 36 minute eliptical session. This appeared in my FitBit dashboard. I also manually entered it into my MyFitnessPal account, which seemed to be the correct thing to do. The accounts are linked. Now, the 36 minute eliptical workout appears in my FitBit dashboard twice. Strangly, one says it used 290 calories while the other says 306.

I'm guessing this has to do with having entered it manually into MFP, but I'm not sure, ad I don't see why the calories would change.

Thoughts? Thanks...

Hello there @HeliosJim. I'm glad to see you around my friend. I believe the most accurate information will be the elliptical session that you log from MyFitnessPal. With this I'm not referring that your Surge is not working. But note that the elliptical session is not entirely a step base activity. Manually logging an activity works well for those activities where step count isn't the best indicator of the calories burned. If you are doing an activity that does not require steps (like cycling or elliptical), or an activity that requires more than just steps (like tennis or yoga), logging this will improve the accuracy of this activity's contribution to your caloric burn.

Hope my suggestion helps. Catch ya later.
