On occasion my Fitbit Surge will log active minutes for hours during sleep even though my heart rate is not elevated in any way. Is anyone else experiencing that and why would that happen?

I'm glad to see you here in the Forums @maryanndube59, hope you're doing great today!
See what my friend @Kait5991 posted here. It might be the reason why you're getting active minutes during night. Would you mind trying switching your heart rate to "Off" and see if by doing that you stop getting the active minutes at least for 1 or 2 nights.
Is this happening every night? Are you still waking up with so many active minutes? I'd recommend restarting your Fitbit at least three times in a row to see if this does the trick. However, I was wondering, did this happen again?
Keep me posted!

Thanks for the information. It has happened a few times, but not every night. It does not seem to have any relationship to my heart rate which is recorded as relatively low (normal levels during sleep) during the period that was appearing to erroneously log active minutes. So, no elevated heart rate, no exercise and no steps are logged just active minutes. I'll try the multiple restarts of the fitbit device as you suggested.

Thanks for getting back @maryanndube59! Interesting follow up! Please do so, and let me know if you continue having those extra active minutes. I hope it won't happen again though.
I'll be around!

I don't what it's doing, but sometimes it splits my sleep time into two separate sleep and wake times. If I delete one, and edit the other for the correct times, it displays correctly. And one time it added 2000 steps after I went to sleep. I sync'ed before going to sleep with nearly 8000 steps, and it showed my total for the day at 10000 steps when I checked the next morning. It's a very strange app.

Hi @BDangBill! What a great day to step into the community!
Wow! That's odd. Please take a look of some possible reasons on why you might be getting extra steps during night. You can also try to restart your Fitbit Surge a couple times to get a better reading for your sleep. I hope this helps.
I'll be around in case you have more questions!
