Hi, please help!
Trying to set up my new Surge and keep getting error codes connecting to bluetooth. Error code 24? Is this a fault with my Surge? How can i fix this as the fitbit screen is still displaying the configuration set-up screen. 😞

It sounds like as long as you're a Windows user you're good to go....except that I'm a Mac user, and up until about three months ago my FitBit Surge worked fine with both my desktop and iPhone, and now it doesn't work at all. Neither do the two replacement trackers I've received. And according to your customer service, the iPhone 8 (which I've just upgraded to) doesn't support your platform. And then you tell me you won't issue a refund for anything.
So what exactly am I suppose to do with these three pieces of crap?

I think as long as you’re a Windows 10 user you might stand a chance. As for what to do with your 3 paper weights... if you’ve purchased goods that’s not fit for purpose then you are entitled to a full refund don’t you agree?

I used Windows 7 and fitbit connector to update my surge. It does not work with Surge. I now I have to revert back to my fitbit charge HR until they resolve it. They gave me 30% discount on iconic which I accepted as I seem to have lost trust in the fitbit surge as it is being discontinued and the people who write software/firmware to update the surge did not went through regression testing to make sure that the update that was sent out works with myriad system.
The fitbit surge at least for me worked beautifully before they rolled out the update in the last few weeks. Why roll out an update if it does not work properly for many users or has gone through testing.
I even purchased a heavily discounted brand new Surge for $100 at surge. I tried to replace it. The fitbit app recognizes it , adds it to my existing device, fails to update it and the new Surge is stuck at configuration
If I remember correctly, the Surge had similar problem last year when they updated the firmware and software around the Christmas/Holiday time. It stopped working for many Surge users.

My apologies, my anger wasn’t directed at you—it appeared that a Fitbit representative was/is in the mix here as well. This platform and it’s reply/posting structure isn’t the most clear-cut. I appreciate the info you’ve been able to pass along.

Hi, I found one solution for this, I connected the Surge to other android phone, updated it, then connected back to phone and it worked.

I had the same problem - in the end i set the phone up via my laptop and it worked OK. You need to disconnect the phone app from your fitbit, and make sure the wifi connection is off as well.
Then plug the little dongle thing into your computer and go to fitbit.com/setup. It worked for me eventually. Poor show by fitbit though!!

What about folks without Windows PCs? Mac and iPad, and can’t get past error 24.

I’m using iOS 11.2.1. Having these exact same issues.

We are having the same issue as everyone else. I see that you sent an email to some people affected why would you not post the solution for all to see - common sense. How do you fix the error 24 issue that everyone is having.

It’s nice to know that I’m not the only one having this issue. I got thit blaze today and my husband got the surge. Mine set up fine but we’ve been trying to set up his surge all day with no luck. We’ve done everything in this thread and not a thing has worked.

Basically, if you use Mac products, you're **ahem** outta luck. Which sucks, because for some reason my Surge worked a few months ago and then with the new firmware it stopped working. You would think that FitBit would make this known somewhere, but it seems like nobody got the memo. So now we're all stuck with these products that we can't return (after 45 days) and can't make work. To eBay I go!
