I love my fitbit Surge and all the features that is has.
I would suggest including a step conveter for activities when your arm does not move but you are doing high intensity exercise such as spinning.
It could calculate equivalent steps using heart rate detail to monitor intensity.

Hey there, @BillieJeanH! Welcome to the Family. Thanks for attaching the link @WendyB, it is a really good suggestion. I would like to add that when your Surge is tracking those types of activities, or at least the ones that you have in your Fitbit Shortcuts, uses your HR information to calculate calories burned if your doing a high intensity level exercise; but as you said it would be great to have a calculation of steps too.
If you have any other amazing idea I would like to encourage you submit it as a suggested idea, where members of the Community can comment and vote for it; so it can be implemented in a future update, this is the best way to make your voice heard.
See you around!
