FitBit Surge -Red light

Red light ....coming on and off..why is that, what is this, Is anyone else having this problem????

Yes  I have a red light come on for the first time and it is staying on i have no idea why or what it means.

Me either..i contacted support and so far the only thing they asked was if my  firmware update .. and yes it is ...link is what they sent me https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1871

Started three days ago.  Only thing I know what was changed was I updated to IOS 11, and the recent surge firmware update.

@Johnpeter@Divaearls@Hjchew@bikathon66 Your Surges are defective. If they are still under warranty call Customer Service. If they are not under warranty try draining the battery to  zero (about 24 hours after the LED and display go blank). Charge and restart. If the LED returns then all you can do is live with it. The battery life will be much shorter because of the LED.  FYI. The Surge has been discontinued and replaced with the Ionic. Best of luck to you all.
