Fitbit Surge not syncing with any devices

My Surge has stopped syncing with my laptop (windows 10) and tablet (Android).  It has been working for the last 6 months.

 

displayed messages received when attempting to sync

"Checking if the tracker is connected to another device"

"Looking for tracker"

 

Any help would be appreciated

You can try restarting it: restart
