Fitbit surge will not sync

Brand new Fitbit Surge will pair with my Windows 10 PC or Windows phone. It does see it using bluetooth and nothing happens when I use the tracker dongle on my PC. I fitbit doesw switch on as I have charged it with the USB cable. Oh and I have tried the above with and without the cable plugged in. I have also uninstalled the software and tried again with no luck.

Where is your phone when you try to sync it to the PC? If it is close, your FitBit might be connected to the phone instead. Does it sync using your phone?
