Fitbit time will not sync

I traveled to the mountains a few weeks ago, and the time on my Fitbit changed automatically. Now I'm back home and the time will not sync. Everything else (steps, heart rate, etc.) will sync, just not the time.

I've already tried making sure it had the right time zone. I even manually changed the time zone. Still no sync. I have turned it off and on again several times. I even let it completely die a few times. Nothing seems to be working. I'm stumped. I'm still an hour behind.

Welcome to the forums @jazzland

You try restarting the Surge? It's like rebooting your computer.

Yeah. That was in my post. I actually just fixed it. I set it to Costa Rica time, instead of Chicago time. Apparently the time is syncing, but I guess Chicago isn't registering as Central Standard Time? I don't know.

@jazzland I had a similar thing happen the other month, but I was just one time zone away. It took a day or so before it got back to my usual time.

As long as it's the right time for you, it doesn't matter if it's Costa Rica or Chicago.

Keep on stepping!

I have this problem whenever I travel. I have had luck changing timezone setting from auto to manual so you can choose the timezone you are in and then force it to sync. Good luck!

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @jazzland, and thank you for sharing those suggestions @Emiliefair@Odyssey13.

If you find this inconvenience again, make sure the time in your computer and phone are correct before updating it, and you can also try changing your timezone manually and select a random timezone, then force sync your tracker and change it to automatically again, you can do this a couple of times if the time is still not correct. I hope this helps in the future.
