GPS inaccuracy

Hi all,

Used the Surge on when on a short bike ride for the first time today. This route is 8miles

The surge has recorded it being 3m....I'm now not confident I'm ever getting accurate readings from this device. Is it faulty?

Hey there @Andybtsn welcome! Please be sure that right before you get on your bike, you go to the exercise screen on your Surge and start the cycling activity. This will for sure record your distance more accurately since it will connect to your phone and the distance will be provided by your phone's GPS.

The GPS signal from your Fitbit walk may be affected by the position of the receiving antenna. There are plenty of members who recommend to store the phone in an outside pocket of a backpack or jacket pocket or the back pocket on a cycling jersey. If you see your tracked distance through GPS through a path you did not walk through it happens sometimes when the GPS did not get a correct measurement from one or more satellites.

See you around! Woman Wink
