Giving up on fitbit

My family (of four)  have all had fitbits for 2+years but will sadly be giving up on them. I just bought my husband a new Blaze for his birthday that I planned to give him on 12/2 but will be returning to Amazon. I've had a surge for 2 years but have found the quality in the band to be lacking (my first was replaced due to the band peeling away at about 12 months) and now my replacement has peeled away in about 6 months and my screen face just randombly goes blank. The best Nikko in customer service could offer me is a 25% discount on a new surge. I'm not willling to buy an almost 300.00 prouduct I have to replace every 6 months. So it looks like even though we will forfeit sleep monitoring we will be going with the apple watch from here on out. It's too bad too, because I honestly love my surge I just wish the band would last longer than 6-12 months for the price of the product.

Surge customer service if you want to keep us. We're here. Please reach out. I want to stay with you. It's up to you though to give me a quality product I can believe in.

I'm on Surge number 3.   This will be the last one.  I really like Surge, but problem after problem and there is no redesign.   Lots of great stuff for other FitBit products.  I feel FitBit is just allowing the Surge to go extinct

Fitbit released new trackers with exchangeable bands (Fitbit Blaze, Alta, Charge 2, Flex 2), there's no Surge 2 yet, it's unknown if fitbit will release a Surge 2 (with exchangeable bands)..

It's possible to for example sell the replacement tracker on a second hand website.. and use the money partially for getting another tracker (with exchangeable bands)..
