I bought my Fitbit specifically to track heart rate so I can show my Dr  what is going on.... and it just says no data then I try to look at it

Hi,

the HR sensor has three settings:

  • On. Means always on. Always detecting your heart rate.
  • Auto Means that the watch detects whether it's worn or not and activates the sensor dependently on this.
  • Off. Well, you might guess, no HR readings at all.

These settings can be changed in the App. First make sure it's either On or Auto (I'd recommend Auto to save battery, in case you often remove your watch)

For a quick check, make sure you see the "green lights" glowing under the watch. If you see them, the HR sensor is on.

Mind that no Fitbit device, and mostly no "commercial" device (including Apple, Garmin, ...) can really be considered a valid ECG. It can give you an idea about your heart rate but shouldn't really be considered much more than that.

Ah! Now I get it.

My Charge 2 took one day to start charting HR data, I guess it's normal for the Surge too if you just bought it.

Nice to see that you're digging into the Forums @Blah1711, let me give you a warm welcome to our Community.

I think that @Kapppa is right! If your Fitbit is new it might take a while to show your HR details in the Dashboard. You might try to log out from the App and log back in, in case that you're still having issues with the HR graphs. You can also turn off the HR for a moment, sync your Surge and then turn it back on. You will find the option the Settings on your Fitbit Dashboard in under your tracker name.

As a last resource you can try the restart in your Fitbit to see if this helps. I'd like to know where are you checking this information? Do yo have an screenshot of the information that you can see?

Please keep me posted! Woman Wink
