Height?

Okay, so I got my new Surge yesterday evening and went through the basic setup and started wearing it. Today when I got home from work I was looking at my personal info on my profile and noticed that it had a height entered of 6' 1.6"...which is eerily accurate. I definitely did not enter that height as I always round up to 6' 2" when entering my height on anything.

Where did this number come from and how was it calculated?

Curious about that to, since height normally requires to be entered manually and Fitbit can't magically know.. Cat Embarassed

@Tony671 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Well, that is very strange! Normally you input your height when you are creating your account for the first time. I will recommend to log out from the Fitbit app (if using your mobile device) or from Fitbit Connect (if using a computer). Then log back in and change the height to the correct one and click on "save". Then refresh it and check if it was actually saved. If on your mobile device, it would be really good to reboot it.

I will keep investigating on this strange issue to check if I can find more information or similar cases like this one! @WendyB

Let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy

@SantiR On my App it is correct.

On the computer Dashboard it says 5' 6.1

I changed it and will see if it comes back

That is just it though, 6' 1.6" is correct. I just didn't enter it as such.

I was just wondering how this thing knew that, or was it just some sort of fluke??

It had also auto calculated my stride at 2' 6.5" walking and 3' 2.3" running. I am now wondering if it somehow estimated/calculated my height based on my stride.
