Hi there @AP32, I'm glad to see you around in our community. The rule of 10 minutes apply when you are tracking activities of high intensity, however keep in mind that your tracker is reading your movement all the time, or at least as long you are wearing your tracker. So if you tracker detect an increase of activity or you have at certain period of time an increase on your step count, it will give you active minutes. Also manually log activities will contribute with active minutes count too. Keep in mind that active minutes are consequence of the calories burned and the most you burn more active minutes you'll have since the heart rate data allows a better estimate caloric burn and, in turn, exercise intensity.
Hope this explain a little why you have active minutes and hope to see you soon.
