I've had my Surge for two years and for the first couple of months tracked a comparison between my Polar FT4 with chest strap and my Surge. Wasn't happy with the huge difference then and still am not happy with what I perceive to be is inaccuracte calorie burn with my Surge.
FT4
Duration 52:21
Cal 484
Avg HR 120
Max HR 144
In zone peak minutes 46:22
Surge
Duration 52:27
Cal 902
Avg HR 137
Max HR 158
In zone peak minutes 31:00
A difference of 418 calories is an entire meal. I trust the old FT4 more than the Surge.

Hey there @SFDonovan. Good to see you in the Community!
I'm sorry that the information when it comes to heart rate doesn't seem accurate for you.
If you haven't done so, I would recommend restarting your tracker by pressing and holding the left and lower right buttons for 10-12 seconds and your tracker will reboot. Then try it out and see if there is any change in your calorie estimation. Also make sure that all your personal information has already been entered correctly in your account settings and then see if this makes a difference.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more help with this!
