Lost a chunk of my run and I'd like it back.

So, I went for a run and somewhere toward the end, I swiped my Surge to change the display to give my pace.
A few minutes later, I noticed the display hadn't changed... Clearly, I had paused the run tracker and had to press the bottom right button to get it going. Sure enough, my run log is missing almost a kilometre and under reports everything by an equivalent amount.
1. In my opinion, this is a bug; I did not press the pause button and neither did I want to pause tracking
2. I now have a four or five minute gap in my run log. Is there a way to access the missing data?
3. Can anybody explain what the hell happenned and how to stop it happenning again?

@GaiusCoffey Thanks for stopping by! An activity through the exercise option shouldn't be stopped if you didn't pressed the button. I'd recommend restarting your Surge and then using it again. To get back any missing data, I'd recommend logging the activity manually. You will get accurate data about it!

Try that out and let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy

No, the data does not exist.

That is from my map.

I tried exporting as TCX and this is from the XML;

MissingLap2.PNG

For five minute lap times, I should have had a lap starting at 18:03 and I did not.

The data has gone.

If I manually log the activity, it will only show me that I was running at the times that I ALREADY KNOW I was running. What it won't provide is the missing GPS data, the missing pace data, the missing distance data.

Similarly, restarting without any understanding of the bug is simply a brush off.

I have no reason to think that a restart will do anything as I don't currently know what has caused this. It is a one-off problem and I am inclined to think it is your software mistakenly reading a swipe input as a tap input - if so, then a restart will do nothing.

But the point is; I am just a little irritated to have lost the data, but I am really annoyed to not know what caused the data loss so as to be able to avoid it in the future.
