Mileage Pace, and Distance Incorrect!

All,

Myself and a colleague purchased a Surge this week and have done some benchmark testing. So far with shocking results. My colleague has since taken his back because the distance and pace is well off what our Phone Trackers such as iMapMyRun and Strava are showing. We both tested these in different locations and different routes and both of us had different results from both of those Phone trackers. We even compared the route it printed out and are off!. the Surge shows my colleague running through bushes. Does anyone know why this is or if its going to be fixed? If not mine is being taken back because its alot of money to spend on a device that doesnt seem to be working as good as a Phone app.

If anyone has seen this and knows a resolution that would be great, if not its back to Argos with it for a refund!.

Image below FYI!

Left is Surge, Right is Phone. We both got these weird results with different Phone apps which seem to me alot more accurate!. Notice on the left hes being seen to run through a house and trees to this is well off.Surge vs Phone.jpg

Hello @c2wak, good to see you in our community and welcome aboard. I believe in this scenario the environment you are in can affect the signal strength of GPS on your Surge. For example, if you are running in an urban environment as your images shows, with tall buildings, it may take your Surge tracker several seconds to get a fix. In this case I suggest to wait until your Surge fix the signal of the GPS. Although the informtion it provides should be accurate like steps and distance.

If your Surge is still having issues finding a signal or is not accurate, try restarting the tracker by doing the following:

1. Press and hold the Home and Select buttons (left and bottom right) on your Surge for 10 to 15 seconds, until you see the screen flash or start to dim.
2. Let go of the buttons.
3. After your screen turns completely off, wait 10 seconds and press the Home button to turn your Surge back on.

Hope this helps and see ya later my friend.
