Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Emmav73
! I think it's important to differentiate between the Fitbit Trainer and the Food Plan, the latter of which helps you track your calorie intake in relation to your energy output.
The trainer consists of a 12-week program, in which you're encouraged to increase your activity levels and is specific to the goals you set when you begin the program. By entering your existing weight and your ideal weight, the trainer can adapt to help you reach your goal! The Fitbit Trainer is available through our Premium membership- learn more here.
A food plan helps you achieve and maintain your weight goal, and is centered much more around your food intake. Also, it's free! By logging your meals each day, you can track your progress towards an estimated goal based on caloric intake and burn.
Hope this helps, and doesn't make anything more confusing.
