New surge help please

I have a Fitbit surge, I am trying to setup, been on charge nearly all day, the led light is on won't turn of, holding the home button for 3 seconds doesn't do anything. So unable to setup. Please help me

I found a solution to fix the issue. I really hope I don't have this issue as I brought it at a fundraiser in an auction.
