Hi, @4thgrade4ever, that is only possible if you set up a separate account. You can have multiple Fitbits on a sungle account, but only one of each type.
If you replace your old Surge on your account with your new one, you won't lose any of your historical data, in case that is what is concerning you.

Thanks for your response @4thgrade4ever! As my friend @Julia_G mentioned, you won't lose your data when you set it up your new Surge, however, you can't keep the two Fitbit Surge, on the same account.
Now regarding your question, let me tell you that your Surge will continue to recording data even if it is not paired to an account but of course you won't be able to sync at least it is paired to another account.
