The bluetooth will only sync with one device at a time if it's connected to your Iphone it won't sync with your Ipad at the same time but the data should go into your account and show on the Ipad as well. You can sync to your Ipad but turn the bluetooth off on your phone to sync. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your help @WendyB and @Redmoonstar! Welcome to the Community @Saltywong! If you're having syncing issues with your Surge, I recommend following this instructions to keep your information updated on your Fitbit app.
You can add the activities you delted from your app. To do this, you only need to go to your app>Tap on exercise> tap the + sign and enter the name of your activity and save or log.
